What Are Self-Locking Cable Ties?
Self-locking cable ties feature a one-way pawl mechanism inside the head — push the tail through, the pawl engages instantly, and the bond holds permanently. Tamper-evident: the only way to open is to cut. Standard for electrical panels, automotive harnesses, and security-critical installs.

Yes — the one-way pawl can only be released by cutting. Any attempt to remove leaves visible damage, making them suitable for security seals, evidence bags, and chain-of-custody applications.
Are self-locking ties reusable?
No — by design, self-locking ties are single-use. For reusable bundling, see our reusable zip ties with releasable pawl.
What's the temperature range for self-locking nylon?
Standard PA66 nylon: −40°C to 85°C. Heat-stabilized variants extend to 105°C. For higher temperatures, switch to stainless self-locking or PEEK ties.
Will the pawl loosen under vibration?
No — HCT pawls are designed and tested to hold rated load under continuous vibration (verified per IEC and SAE harness specifications). Specifically rated for engine bays, machinery, and rolling stock.
